Many users have been messaging us saying that after jailbreaking their device, their battery life was almost cut in half. There is a very simple solution for this.

When your device is jailbroken, a program called SSH is installed. SSH allows your computer to wirelessly connect with your device. SSH is the program drains your battery power. You'll need to turn it off by using a program called BossPrefs. Follow the simple steps to increase your batter power.

1. Open Cydia and tap on the Search tab.

2. Type in BossPrefs into the Search box.

3. Find BossPrefs and install it.

4. Once it's done, push the home button.

5. Find and tap on the BossPrefs icon on your home screen.

6. Find the SSH switch and turn it off.

There you have it! Your battery power should dramatically improve. Don't remove BossPrefs from your iPod because as default, SSH turns on every time you fully turn off your iPod. This is a safety measure because if a file goes corrupt during boot up, you can SSH the file out.

You can also try to use a lower brightness to save even more battery power.

Also another feature many iPod touch users don't know about is the ambient light sensor located at the very top of their device. This senses the light out side and automatically decreases or increases your brightness. This is left on by default and wastes a lot of battery and if you don't use it too often you can turn it off.

1. Go to Settings.

2. Then go to Brightness.

3. Now turn off Auto-Brightness.

You have to go into Config and then turn on SSH. If it's already on, go into Cydia, download openSSH. Then do the above steps.
